You could try Antoinia Fraser's 'The Journey".

Don't expect reading about history to be necessarily simple....you have to ask yourself what you like most in life and read about that, and maybe its' more fashion and such things? Nothing is simple about Marie Antoinette and the late 18th century in France. That's half the problem, she was judged far too simply, and for me was a complex person.

One of the best books I've ever read about Marie is: "Queen of Fashion: What Marie Antoinette Wore to the Revolution" by Caroline Weber. It's an easy to understand biography of her life and how her fashion choices showed her inner nature and ultimately affected her fate. Since you're into 18th century fashion, this would be the PERFECT read for you, and especially if you're just getting started with Marie.
