Post subject:  Welcome to Marie Antoinette Online

Just a general, broad note to all of you who are new to the forum, with the number of posts made here I know that I often miss some of you when you post your introductions.

I am the board administrator - bold enough to call herself La Reine :D. If there is anything you ever need done on the boards, if you have difficulty posting or a concern about something don't hesitate to contact me by PM or email. Similarly if you have a suggestion for the forum or the site in general I'm always happy to hear from you. More and more this site is becoming the product of the members of our Marie Antoinette community and with your suggestions and ideas it can only get better.

So once again welcome everyone, and thank you for joining us!

Post subject:  Hello from Allison Smith

Hi, I am Allison Smith and want to thank you most sincerely for letting me join your distinguished group. I am a t-girl; that is a guy who likes to dress as a girl. I have found that just this statement is enough to put many people off and I am very pleased that you still feel able to welcome me.
My principal interest in Marie Antoinette is in the clothes that she wore and the fashions that she inspired. When I first had this urge to dress as a woman during my teens, it was seeing actresses swanning around in costume drama films in huge dresses that really acted as a catalyst and eventually led me towards the 18thC rococo gown as the ultimate in feminine fashion. I collected images of Marie Antoinette and then resolved that I would have a dress like hers but taken to new higher levels with the use of modern glittering fabrics. At this point I assumed that I had infringed in another area, that of historical accuracy. I know that my interest in a fantasy gown, rather than an historically accurate reproduction, has led me to being shown the door from one or two 18thC Historical groups so this was another good reason for excluding me.
I look forward to chatting to fellow members on any related topic and would especially love to contact those that are particularly interested in her gowns.
Many thanks Ally XXX

Hello, I am really pleased at the responses already and feel welcomed here. If any one wants to chat gowns I am happy to correspond through the forum, my e-mail or on Yahoo Messenger. I am invariably "invisible" on the latter otherwise I would just not get any work done.
