An image of Marie Therese Charlotte as a baby.
I was on the internet and I found a fashion plate with a baby picture of Marie Therese and a governess. This fashion plate is from the MFA. I found this rather strange and delightful at the same time. I thought it was strange that this image was on a fashion plate. I was also delighted by the novelty as well. Enjoy. Attachment:

It does look a bit strange doesn't it? I wonder what object Madame Royale is holding?

I think it is a collapsible fan.

She's dressed just like an adult - were the more privileged children dressed like this every day or just for more formal occasions? Sorry for the stupid question!

Re: An image of Marie Therese Charlotte as a baby.
It is sad, the Museum of Fine Arts does not have any eighteenth century prints like this on display currently, none that I have seen anyway. However, it appears they are adding a very large addition to the building, so we can only hope they will put some nice things like this on display! But they do have a few things which belonged (supposedly) to Marie Antoinette on display, which are very nice...

Does the statue represent the king, on the left of Madame Royale? What do you think?
