Also following Olivier Blanc, the last portrait Kusharsky made in the temple is this one :

This is the original, he said... that was mistaken by Mme Jallut for this one :

Indeed, copies and copies were made, such as this terrible one:

Yes, Therese... I find sweetness and mystery in her eyes on Vigee's paintings. An incredible depth in her ocean eyes on Kusharsky's portraits. But I had never seen such a strength, such a magnetisme. For sure, Marie Antoinette is a magnetic soul...

She was very magnetic and had eyes that penetrated the soul.

Oh yes ! Eyes that penetrated the soul... that's it ! So beautiful...

BTW, Therese, Olivier Blanc also says that Marie Antoinette loved your avatar especially. More than the "à la rose" painting. Many copies were ordered for her friends. It is a so beautiful portrait ! So sweet her expression... and so intelligent, so full of this inner depth...

How could people for years pretend Marie Antoinette was stupid and shallow ? How can people still do ?

Beautiful and dignified: this is much more impressive than the quick drawing made of Antoinette seated in the cart. But which is more accurate?

Certainly not David's, in my opinion ! The man was an ardent revolutionary, he just wanted to caricaturize the Austrian woman.

David's rendition of Antoinette's decapitated head is actually a very bad drawing. It looks like a sketch a ten year old would do. He obviously didn't spend too long on trying to make a realistic picture.

I am dubious about this sketch... was it really made by David ? Some doubt about it (maybe because it is no master piece !).

On the other hand, this show the head of a young woman... and I always wondered about Marie Antoinette's physical condition. In my view, those descriptions of "an old woman" are exaggerated.

So..... ?

I agree Pim....I think that David, if it is really him the author of this portrait, too much wanted to exaggerate the old age of Marie-Antoinette… because there are too many differences with the portrait of Kuscharsky where she wears a Mourning dress.
