Mon Dieu!
But thanks for your posting ohappydagger.
It is always so shocking to realize that all the horror really existed.
That's is why we have to keep going on here, to introduce people the real Marie Antoinette, so that nobody will ever think that anyone deserved this age of horror. All the improvements in the society could have been done in a different way. (I know, I may be over-emotional sometimes, but I blame it for my profession where I am every day encouraged to feel and use them.)
With the wrong attitude towards Queen, people could think that she somehow was responsible for her terrible fate. That is not human!!

Oh, I agree with you. So many innocent lives did not need to be shed.

I could be wrong.... several years ago I read a biography of Madame Tussaud ( what an amazing person she was ) which stated that after the public executions the bodies were taken and "dumped" nearby and Madame Tussaud - a very young woman at the time - was forced / required to take wax death masks of the victims.
These same masks were used as the basis of the wax models in the exhibition that she brought here to London. (I was horrified as a child when visiting the Waxworks to see a scene showing her doing this work.)
I had always assumed that because of these masks, and her personal knowledge of the Royal family when they were alive that her representations were fairly good ones.
I haven`t visited Madame T`s recently.... so I am a bit vague about all of this. When I last went I am certain MA was seated with her family.

The blade that did the job? Ah, you get those kinds of claims.
Ugh, I can imagine Madame Tussaud had to have a strong nerve to do her job.
