Ouch "Monsieur Andre"...that comment about "mayumi's" artwork was quite harsh. So they are not actual sketches or paintings....but they are still very pretty and deserve some good praise. Since you are a fellow artist...I believe (without sounding too bold) that you should respect other peoples artwork. Rather than plainly stating your view....why not offer some artistic hints on how she could improve her artwork...rather than make her change her style completely. Not everyone can paint or draw a good picture.

Well, if I were to give her hints, I would start by telling her not to take peices from paintings that weren't even painted in the 18th century. She put MA's head on a dress worn in a portrait by Queen Victoria! Secondly, the heads just don't look natural on the other bodies, and third, you can't take the heads off of famous portraits and put MA's head on, it debases the person that that was in the original painting. I'm sorry, it's just not my cup of tea.

I must say I agree with Monsieur Andre, you can't really put Antoinette's head in a picture and then call it a picture of her. Whether or not it is art I'm not the one to judge, but I think that you have to say that it is not actually a picture of Antoinette (just her head), otherwise people are misled. If you are making a picture yourself of Antoinette then I hope that it would be a more accurate one.
