especially for reine- it's a german book
Hello everybody,
I got a new book a propos de my nameday:) I haven't realized yet it can be avaible in other countries, except for Germay. That's why I adress this message to reine, who, I belive, lives in Germay... correct me if I am wrong, please. So, it is a german book by Lea Singer. Its name is "The austrian whore" or in german "Die österreichische Hure". Is there somebody who read this book???
About this title you can see it is a forceful, offensive book that contains thirteen conservation. Five women, a gay and a boy who learn about Antoinette in school are talking about Marie Antoinette and pornography.
The story is: the Oscar-winner german director for her forthcoming film about Marie Antoinette's trial has to collect infos. She's talking with a historian, a costume designer and three actress (who are candidates to play Antoinette) to know more and more about apersions towards Antoinette. They compare XVIIIth century France's to nowadays... it seems an obscene book, but gives new informations for me about sexuality in XVIII century. I have to tell it is very very interesting although at some part of it I almost knocked off the book... because there are some shameless conservations in it. This writer, Singer took liberties to write really disgusting things.
Just some part of the conservations for those who couldn't get this book:
"So uninhibited sex, including homosexuality and incestuous intercourses became the symbol of the old regime's decandece"
"-Marie Antoinette was missing lust for power and what is more never got sexual power beyond his husband.
-She was so damnable in bed? ask Jenny gazing at Korinna who is bitting into an icecream. - Just because it is a great problem for a woman if she is clumsy in bed. Especially in her position...
-I'm sure she didn't know so much position if she was such a gawky -says Karla."
and
"-Oh no. How did this crowd know to write pornographic apersions?
-Come now! Everybody can do it in the last resort- Rita gapes- otherwise right in the castle's neighbourhood there was a book seller, they could look into these pamphlets.
-What are you speaking about? A pornoshop in the royal castle?
-Yes, after all. There was a book seller, Lefevre right at the gate of the castle. He sold forbidden printed papers . Especially, of course, pamphlets. The queen was only 22 and there was already about her a lesbian triangle-story. The
Anandria. The seller landed in prison at the end."
I am curious what do you think about it. I'm sure you won't like it...
