Post subject:  Marie Antoinette Grand Palais exhibition catalogue book?

Would anyone happen to own "Marie-Antoinette Exhibition Catalogue" from this site: http://www.boutiquesdemusees.fr/en/shop ... ue.html?r= ?

I recently heard of the exhibition and would like to see photos of it, since photography was (to my knowledge) not officially allowed. I'm interested in knowing if it's mainly a picture book, since I don't know French, and if it contains all or most of the items in the exhibition.

I wish I had known about the book before I placed my order with the site, which I received yesterday, since shipping is 24 Euros no matter what you by... oh well.

I appreciate any help!

I didn't know there exist book on the exhibition. Thank you for attracting our attention.
You may ask Baron de Batz, Lilly or Marija Vera about this book. In October they visited Paris.

Hi!

I was wondering, does the catalogue contain pictures of all (or most) of the items in the exhibition? Is it mostly words or pictures? Would you say it's worth the price for someone looking for interesting/more rare pictures than what can be found online? (also someone who can't understand a lick of French, haha)

Thank you for the help!

It contains almost all the exhibits from the exhibition. For me its' worth the price, and the main interest is the pictures, as I have only read the introduction, albeit quite long and well written (in French). Most of the items are commented with the origin and crafstman mentioned. You can probably get it cheaper now on Ebay, second hand. For me its' worth every cent.

Are you sure? On the boutique website, there's no option for English, like there are for several other books there. Unless it's available somewhere else! (unfortunately I haven't been able to find the book on ebay/elsewhere for cheaper... other Marie Antoniette catalogs, but not the one for the Grand Palais exhibit.)

I just realized I never updated this - I did end up buying the book! It's very lovely and much bigger than I imagined. I love the photos. I can't understand the French, though... I might end up selling it since scanning it and attempting to have it translated seems too much. (it's 400+ pages or so, haha.)
