Post The Private Realm of Marie Antoinette
(Originally: Les Lieux de la Reine Marie Antoinette )

The pictures really make me long to see Versailles, the Petit Trianon, the Hameau, Fontainebleau, and Rambouillet.........some of the photographs are sad, melancholy - at least to me.

Splendid book indeed!
It contains very beautiful photographs, and precise details and very precise descriptions of the places and furniture of Marie-Antoinette.

... and also nostalgical descriptions of her day to day life in Trianon, with her children, her friends, and Gabrielle.

Very interesting descriptions of her furniture can also been found in Huisman and Jallut's book. It is an old book, so, if you find this in a second-hand bookshop, don't hesitate !

"Private Realm" is a delightful book. There is an authentic portrait of Louis-Charles in there. So often he is confused with Louis-Joseph.

I share your feeling, dear. They just do as those people who did not seem to care when this poor Joseph died, the queen wrote to her brother.
