Post Please help me get started
Hello,
I have most recently taken an interest in history of all sorts, so I can easily say that I am ignorant of it for the most part. What would you recommend as a 'best' read for M A, and/or the monarchy/politics of France?
Thank You!

Ok, so I have found a starting list from various excellent posts on this site...my library carries none! Typical of our rural Vermont...we are checking other local libraries before I resort to Amazon... :?

Try a college library--you should be able to find something!

Simon Schama's Citizens is a good start.

Post Books written in the 18th century
Hi there! =)

I am looking for books written about Marie Antoinette from the 18th century, or more specifically books written by a Marxist historian or an Enlightenment historian about Marie Antoinette. I have not been able to find any and was wondering if you know of any?
