I know it's not quite 'literature', but does anyone know much more about the Libelles? (For those who don't know, the propaganda pornography that made Marie Antoinette out as a sexual beast whose lust could never be satisfied)
I mean, as in, any particular ones, does anyone have links to them, or pictures? I have an assignment on propaganda at school and I thought I'd scare my teacher and classmates with the Libelles.

You can find good information and analyses in "Writing on the Body of a Queen", by several authors under the direction of Dena Goodman.

I also recommend Chantal Thomas' "Wicked Queen", which is an analyse of the mythical Marie Antoinette through pamphlets. She was represented as a debauched woman, but always for political reasons.

Pictures are rather hard to find.

Those wicked people!....and such horrible pictures.

They truly were wicked pictures. Sometimes, history makes me laugh because of how gullible people could sometimes be. But this makes me want to weep.
