Yes. If anyone the wrath of the French should have been directed towards her because she was so decadent! If she had acted with any dignity perhaps someone would consider saving her, versus her screaming like a banshee to live and no one saving her. I would have been fighting for the life of the Queen and my family, I would have cared less about myself! Marie Antoinette spent even less than most French mistresses.

yes but with louis not having a mistress she filled the position and allowance to spend the equal amount of a mistress.
