Post Louis VIII's Remains.(If you scare easily don't look.)
I was looking for images of 18th century clothing and I stumbled on this eerie treasure. It is a drawing of Louis VIII's skeleton.

Wow. Did you find it on http://www.culture.gouv.fr/public/mistr ... SPECIFIC=1
??

I suppose this is from that time when mob broke in old French king's tombs.

I am confused - do you mean Louis Charles, son of Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI? It cannot be him- as he was a ten year old boy and this is the remains of a grown man. Probably Louis VIII.

My mistake everyone! I apologize! These are indeed the remains of Louis VIII! I am very embarrassed to say the least.

I was wondering if anyone knows about the remains of royalty in France during and after the Revolution...... Were all grave and tombs desecrated?
Are any of the remains intact of any of the royal family?

Alot of the royal tombs are at St. Denis Basilique - this place is a treasure! I was shocked at how few people were there when I visited last year. I cannot say for sure, but I read somewhere that there was a guy who had some of the royals moved before the revolutionaries got there to desecrate the place. Great new topic to start - I will find my booklets from when I was there and be ready to talk about this! Welcome jolie_blon!!

I am not sure, but Nostradamus predicted that his own grave would be desecrated in 1793 and this event did indeed happen.

Oh, this Nostradamus was a wondrous person. Do you know more about his prophecies?

He supposedly predicted the flight of Varnes, his own grave being sacked, World War II, The attacks of 9/11, and the end of the world. :/
