Yes! Joseph Turquan's biography, "Madame Royale: The Last Dauphine."

Also, "Marie-Antoinette's daughter" by Alice Curtis Desmond.

"The Youth of the Duchess of Angouleme" and "The Duchess of Angouleme and the Two Restorations" both by Imbert de Saint-Amand.

Dear Therese,

Is Turquan's bio better than Saint-Amand's? Which one is the most complete?

Isn't Desmond's one written as a novel, is it?

Thank you!

Turquan's is better than Saint-Amand's. It is a more thorough and critical treatment, although Saint-Amand's is interesting, almost like a social register of events at the court. Yes, Mrs. Desmond's bio is essentially a novel although it not without merit as far as basic information (the pictures are great.) However, it has many errors, such as having MTC trying to find witnesses for the birth of the Duc de Bordeaux rather than Madame de Gontaut.
