Post PBS SPECIAL ON MARIE
Did anyone by any chance see the Pbs special on Marie Antoinette?

I personally, thought it made her look like too rebellious when she was just free spirited. They didn't show the Queen's friendships or allies only Count Fersen which disappointed me. :(

They didn't mention though how much she helped the poor instead they made her look like she didn't even consider what they felt only dedicated to her pleassures.

I think at this point, no one seems to understand the real Marie Antoinette, I believe that you should never truly judge a person of who they are but thier actions and she has never did anything so outrageous in her life besides gambling but she did it out of depression and eventually, she gave it up for the sake of her life and children.

 She was not a pestilent Queen, France was already vulnerable as it was, regardless of Marie Antoinette being there as Queen. Even if any good ruler would rule they would be killed or overthrown somehow. She did the best she could, so congrads Marie. :)
She hanged in there when she gave up hope but thank God, she never lost sight of the hope of the blessed redeemer.

I completely agree. I believe that the revolution was bound to happen whether Marie was queen or not.

I find myself agreeing with you all. Change was coming and it was never going to be resisted. The scale of that change was so far-reaching and would have swept aside most people.

What I admire about the King and Queen was their determination to hold on to their beliefs and values in the face of this change.

There was a point and time where Marie did want to escape but she remembered her purpose, her duty is to be a mother and a wife, so she stood by her husband till death do them part.

In a way, when you think about it, Marie Antoinette's life is like a beautiful delicate romance story.

It all honesty, it did not present information that we all didn't know about, it was the same old, mainly they showed so much disguisting pornoraphy images of her. It didn't show the proper respect that Marie needed.

The only thing interesting was seeing the authors speak of her.

You can order a copy from their website, although it was not as good a documentary as it could have been.

Showing the pamphlets exposed them for what they're: lies.

Showed how people were working against the Queen
