Post Coppola's Film on DVD
I bought it on DVD today. Did anyone else?

It bugged me that on the back that it referred to MA as History's favorite Villianess  I guess that shouldn't bug me since whither its true or not that is how "History" is told :(

Ah, dear Therese... I am not sure you missed anything !

The only movie people who love Marie Antoinette must see is "l'Autrichienne". So respectful, so sensitive... that we can hear her praying in German... and it is heartbreaking...

Me too. I'm ashamed to say I can't speak French but I'd love to see this film. Can't seen to track it down though.

Post Yes! I bought it two days ago
I bought it two days ago as soon as the stores opened. (US 13th of Feb. at 8 in the morning.) Eventhough most historians bashed it, I loved that it was shot at Versailles and I think Kirsten Dunst was an excellent choice.

Although it only shows her life up to leaving Versailles. It was an excellent "impression of her" as Sofia Coppola put it. The historian in all of us about this subject wants to point out inaccuracies, but I say sit back and enjoy the idea of seeing her in action. I think it was a great movie. Don't get me wrong if you aren't a fan of the history and a male it might seem like a "chick flick". But if you love the story, you will be fulfilled by this look at, in my opinion, history's most incredible drama.

Coppola did too many historical errors and too many personal interpretations and therefore the real Marie-Antoinette is not represented in this movie...

I kindly suggest that you Mike search for real details about the late 18th cent history. You might be surprised. They had things there that we can only dream of...and may I say some of them are very far away from girlie world, which I think Coppola's film is representing. :)
