Ermine is the only fur trae I support, only because of abundance.
I signed the petition for Gucci to stop using fur.
Lol...

Not only would I dress myself up that way, but I'd dress my daughter and my son that way too... and hopefully my husband if he's willing. I'm known by the people who know me personally that I'd wear costumes just about anywhere if I could and visiting the chateau in it, gives me all the good reason to. I'd say to the tourists, go ahead, take pictures, at least it gives them a great experience and something to talk about when they get home to show friends and family pictures. It'll almost bring the palace to life. Most likely, I'd wear the chemise or the polonaise as well. Those are my favorites. Now I have to start planning on it. Hehe.

If I had children I would do that as well.

I'm a headcase, I'll be going to Versailles this upcoming summer, and plan on wearing my Croix du saint-esprit.
I just don't know what else... :D

Sounds good so far, but you'll need more clothes! You don't want to be "The Comte's New Clothes (Or lack thereof)!"

I would totally do this.

I love this Fickr set...although I don't believe that they are at Versailles. They are at Vaux le Vicomte

I have one of the photos as my wallpaper on my computer, of two women and two men picnicing. I would love to do this.

I paticularly like these outfits. I really love the guy on the steps in the riding boots. That is exactly what I would wear.

Those pictures are great, thank you Marcel Champney for posting them. I really like the yellow-orange outfit in the last picture.

I think it would be fun, but I don't know if I would want to do it in the summertime. Maybe in the spring or fall, when it's not that warm?

The reason why women would faint is not because of constriction of lungs ( in the 18th century);rather they made the body warmer so as you can imagine stays and warm weather would cause the woman to faint. So I would suggest wearing stays/ period dress in winter or summer. If you visit in the winter you can wear a quilted petticoat and faux fur cape/ trim. ;)
