Post Château Versailles' website
I just wanted to tell you all that the Château Versailles has a new website. It's very informative, better than the old one, for sure. With more maps of the different places and many pictures. The domain name is the same: http://www.chateauversailles.fr/. But I really recommend the page for everyone, those who are going to Versailles and those who just want to dream a bit.

:D Yesssssss--this is a better website. This one has more information and is easier to navigate. I sure would like to go back and see the improvements: more furniture, restoration, rooms open, etc. I remember how difficult it was to walk over the cobblestones in the main entryway--they were big and uneven--I didn't see how horses could do it much less people on foot without carriages or sedan chairs.

They were probably used to it.

they cobblestones have been moved around alot, especially since re-surfacing it and adding a plumbing feature.

Also I noticed changes in ticketing and the gift shop--this website makes my heart beat faster :D --history must be addictive. I guess they were used to cobblestones--I think I'm spoiled by modern sidewalks.

I was looking around the site, I found it there that you can rent Versailles for your functions, no price is given but I didn't know that you were able to do that. I knew, of course, you could for filming, but not for other events. Even The Queen's theatre is available for renting.

I love they have added the virtual tours to the site.

yes, but to rent a piece of versailles, astronomical.
some foreign royalty rented it for a wedding some time ago, it was immensely exspensive....

I would imagine that it is expensive. I am surprised that they would rent out some of the rooms for events, considering the history involved with the palace, I bet that there are a lot of restrictions on what is allowed to be done there, to be sure no damage is done.
