Yes, Portugal is a beautiful country!! :D And Sintra too...It's such an interesting village...

There's a palace, Palácio da Pena, and it's many times compared to the bavarian castels of Ludwig II.

Yes, Jules ! I saw this castle ! I stayed in Lisbon for 10 days a few years ago, and visited this wonderful castle in Sintra. A true fairy tales castle ! Marvelous !

 You are right, but because I live in Sintra and I see the Palace every day, I sometimes don't notice the greatness of the Palace...But I think that's normal. People that live in front of the Château de Versailles don't feel the same thing that we feel. For them, seeing the château is a routine, like seeing the Palácio da Pena for me.

I live north of Washington, DC and have gone over the Mason-Dixie Line many times.
Maryland is named for Henriette Marie, daughter of Henri IV and wife of Charles I of England. So we've got a French connection!

Oh, then you surely must be familiar with beautiful downtown Rockville? So charming how they kept the historic character...and the statue of the Confederate soldier? Don't you think?

Yes, and as for the "Mason-Dixie Line," what do you think of the gold statue on 15N?

Well my background is Portuguese. Both my parents were born in Portugal, but they moved to South Africa in 1980. So I was born in South Africa. Sadly things got out of hand in South Africa, so we moved to Vancouver Canada where I now still live.

Yeah, I've been through Rockville via 355.

Ah, you're referring to the Virgin Mary statue at the replica of Grotto of Lourdes on the campus of Mount St. Mary's University & Seminary in Emmitsburg. It's about a half drive north from my town. Mount St. Mary's was my 3rd choice for undergrad and I still remember when it was known as 'College' until last year.

"Fair as the garden of the Lord," as Whittier wrote of Frederick county.
