Thank you ! I certainly will ! Is it true that there are secret passages in Lyon, called "traboules" ? I read this in a mysterious book...

Yes you it's right Pimprenelle. These "traboules" are in the old Lyon (the former Lugdunum), but there is no secret : just small ways to acces old interior court. It is very nice!

Poor Therese, she had difficulties with crowds, and found it impossible to smile in public, for her nerves had been shattered by her youthful ordeals. Very sad, for she had great love for the French people.

Indeed she was not very lucky like her mother...but I imagine also the deception of some who thought see a charming young woman...
Her life is also so complex that's why she's interesting!

It interest me :D I did not know this column. Is it beautiful?

Yes, Louis-Charles, people expected the daughter of Marie-Antoinette to be lovely and charming, and when they saw a nervous, unsmiling woman, they were disappointed!

Dag Pimprenelle, grappig om opeens een nederlandse tekst te lezen.
Tja en Goudsche kaas is lekker, maar heb je weleens Goudsche stroopwafels geproefd? Daar zijn we ook beroemd om.

We can speak about Madame Royale, Duchesse d'Angoulême.
In this town, there is a column in her honor.

There is a monument in her honor, in Charente!!! How wonderful! One of our dear colleagues here was recently asking about a monument for her!!! I am delighted to hear of it, Victoire-Adelaide!

As am I. I want to see it now

Woaw ! Thank you, dear ! Another city I have to visit in France ! :D

However, first of all, I want, I need to go to Varennes, and feel the atmosphere... I want to understand better what really happened in this place... how fate suddenly could fall down the wrong way...

Varennes...Indeed good ideas... :D

Personally I would like to see the"Pont de berne" where Marie-Antoinette met for the first time Louis XV and Louis-Auguste (it will be soon carried out  ) , and Schönbrunn...

Oh... and hearing this sweet Austrian German, sounding like a music... I am just like you, Victoire-Adelaide, I was hardly back home that I wanted to get back to Vienna !

Yes, I loved Vienna very much, and I think Antoinette is never fully understood until her homeland is visited.

Dear friends, I am without a computer for a few days, so will not be posting much.
