I have made three promises to myself: 1) That I will own an 18th Century replica Rococo dress 2) That I will own a Tudor period dress, and 3) That I will make a pilgrimage to Versailles.
I am in need of an 18th century costume (replica), but cannot find any places that sell any, or custom make them, or use matericals beside nylon  .
Do any of you know of any places I could find a dress (online or in person), or know of any patterns I could use to make one?

Ugh! How lovely! Yet I fear, your grace, that I do not have the kind of money to purchase a dress such as that  .

Depends on what your maximum budget is really....I could always ask him, but he would need to know what you need, material, style etc

Its always an investment, otherwise you just get a saucy Marie Antoinette costume from Internet!

I have a friend who is making me one currently, she is an amazing seamstress despite being self-taught, and a perfectionist! She is based in Oxford, England, but I am sure you can converse via the internet etc. I can post the pictures of mine once it is done, but they are all hand-made from scratch and you choose all materials, extras, etc and it's made to measure (I am having proper fittings, going to have 5 all together!).

Send me a private message and I shall pass along details if you are interested?

Ha Ha. You are correct Baron! Those all sound great. I am looking for a polonaise and a chemise a la reine. I have actually started putting together one, but it looks horrid  . I also have no idea where to buy stays, panniers or even a proper bum roll. Unfortunately, it is very dificult to find reproduction creators here.
I am also rather petite, and believe it may be dificult for someone to size me :disgust: ha ha!
