100 BEST BAROQUE - The Glory of French Baroque
For the more discerning amongst you, EMI have released a 6 disked Album entitled "100 BEST BAROQUE".
As indicated in the subject line, there’s one complete disc of only 'The Glory of French Baroque'. It mightn't be as vocally charged as works by Handel or J.S. Bach - debatable - but none the less a feast for the senses. Enjoy

Re: 100 BEST BAROQUE - The Glory of French Baroque
It’s encouraging to think that some of the music on this disc was heard by dear Antoinette herself.. Track 17 by Philidor: Le canal de Versailles would undoubtedly required a royal audience. And more so in Track 5 by De Lalande: Caprice de Villers-Cotterets - Symphonies pour les Soupers du Roi - The King and Queen enjoying this piece during supper.
Considering M.A’s love and enthusiasm for music, one feels a strong connection in every beat.
Who knows how many of these visionaries have Antoinette’s patronage to thank for their success.

Caprice de Villers-Côtteret literally means "the whim or fancy of Villers-Côtteret" ,and that was the place outside Paris where the Duc d'Orléans was briefly banished to by the King....wonder if this has anything to do with the title?
