Hi Ymoney, I'd really like to buy that CD. Is it available for purchase on Internet?

Just purchased "Iphiginie en Aulide" by Glück. Performed at the Paris Opéra in 1774 before the young Dauphine, it is one moment of pure musical communion with MA, as this was a piece of music she personally supported and loved.

French music was almost non existent before Marie Antoinette's arrival in France ! Marie Lezcsinska and Marie-Josèphe had already done some things about it, but Mozart's father said nontheless that the French had really bad taste in music and that only the German influence could improve it.
When Marie-Antoinette was dauphine, the only pieces that were played were Lully's ! Not only did she help Glück but she also funded French music, even if the composers of that time are somewhat forgotten today (apart maybe from Grétry).
Unfortunately, in the court only her breaking the rules of the Etiquette was noticed ... :x
Bertière states that even though she had excellent taste in music, she was only poorly talented. I didn't know she composed pieces herself !

wow plaisirs d'amour is such a beautiful song ! i had no idea she composed !

Is it true??? I bought the CD in Versailles last July but, unfortunately, it says nothing about the song. All the titles are written next to their composers' names except this one. Any help?

"Plaisir d'amour" was composed for lyrics by Florian (who wrote the lyrics for "C'est mon ami", and Marie Antoinette composed the music) and for the music by Martini.
