I have read that Antoinette was a music lover and that she even composed some pieces of her own. Does anyone know the names of these songs? What kind of instruments did she play?

Marie-Antoinette played grip and harpsichord :D

She composed a music called "C'est mon ami", and others but I don't remember the title

She liked very much the musicians like Gluck, Saliery, Grety, Rameau and Mozart :D

When she was still Dauphine, she really tried to promote Gluck in France, who had just arrived and who was unknown, and she succeeded! :D

This is another proof of sound good taste of Marie-Antoinette, and her faculty to launching the modes :D

She used to play the harp many times, there is a famous painting of her actually playing in the court. :D

I love this portrait; it gives a glimpse into the quen's daily life. She was always in public, even during a music lesson. She is in a loose informal gown for the mornings.

I agree Therese, and we feel this famaux "circle of friendship" which Marie-Antoinette liked.
She's simple, natural, and benefits from her friends :D

The protocol isn't too applicated here, because indeed Marie-Antoinette is wearing her morning dress and not her court dress. And she's not capped... she's very simple in fact! :P

I think that the woman of the bottom is Lamballe, but I'm not sure to 100%...

The woman near Campan could be Noailles...but it's juste a assumption :?

I've seen this painting too. I don't recognize else anyone besides the Queen.

We're sure that the woman who has notes is Campan, all historians affirms it

For Lamballe et Noailles it's less obvious...

I don't know if Lamballe is represented in the painting, but if she is, I guess she's the lady behind the old lady..

Marie-Antoinette composed music for "c'est mon ami", lyrics written by Florian. She completely composed "portrait charmant", even more beautiful...
