If I had any talent as a seamstress I would have made one ages ago!

I'd rather look into purchasing a "ready made model"

I DO have a medieval dress, heavy dove grey velvet, with built in corset, and heavy as old. But it's not really MA-ish...

I chose the en gaulle. However, I am torn between two worlds you might say. I love the simplicity and rustic look of the en gaulle. I think this is due to my love of the gardens at Trianon. However, I also adore the regal spledour of Versailles. The state portraits of the queen are beautiful. Therefore, if I had a choice, I would do a mixture of the en gaulle and a la francaise.

That is what I will be doing on the dress that I am making now. The colors are more rustic. Frosted Rose and not the darker more Royal colors of the court. Though, I dare say the frosted rose is very elegant as well. The cunstruction will be a mixture of the loseness of the gaulle and the trimmings of a la francaise. I hope it will turn out well.
