Post Widow Capet
I was wondering what the name Capet was chosen for Louie and Marie? Did they just pull it out of think air or was it already in their family somewhere?

She was re-named "the Widow Capet," after Hugh Capet, founder of the Capetian Dynasty. But what relations did the Bourbon dynasty have with the Capet, except for both of them being French royal dynasties? :?

Capet dynasty had died out so the Bourbon dynasty was not connected to it.
I assume they just made a mistake. :|

The Bourbons are a cadet branch of the same family. All French Kings since Huge Capet can trace their ancestry through the male line to him. Some modern royal families are also members of the Capetian dynasty, King Juan Carlos of Spain for example.

Apprently My family goes back even further in the robertian dynasty.
My grandfather is trying to find out if our branch connects even to the Carolingian Dynasty.
Here; Capetian, Robertian, Carolingian.

Ugh. It's so cool to see it after it's finished though. It's worth the work.

Monsieur le Comte,
I think that it is wonderful that your Grandfather is researching your family tree. I hate it when things get lost in the mists of time...

Wholeheartedly,
Ray
