Hallo! /I'm back./ Truly, it was more momentous than people thought in 1785. You are right dear Hellou, it had already shown the Queen's authortity before the real dethronement.

Everybody who saw the necklace said it had been ugly. I do not know... I think it could be beautiful!

I like the replica with those blue ribbons. I wouldn’t mind having it! :D

It looks a bit heavy though, perhaps so much it could impede one's ability to walk!

Hm… I think that in the 18th century women didn’t worry so much about that.
I suppose they got used to heavy wigs and hats so one heavy necklace wouldn’t be such a problem if you wear it in a special occasions only. I’ve always loved old fashioned jewelry but I don’t have opportunity to wear jewelry like that so I don’t buy it. I wear only simple earrings (white gold) and a bracelet with a cross that I got from a church.:)

I should try one and see. :)
I think I wouldn’t be able to breathe normally but still I would enjoy wearing it.

All 18th century corsets did was kept your posture and pressed the breasts together to achieve the cleavage. Later Victorian and Edwardian corsets are the corsets that prevented you from breathing.
