Merci beaucoup, mon cher ami, Chou-Charles!
And tomorrow morning then a glass of fresh milk, some fromage à la campagne, eggs and fresh herbs, basilicum etc.with a cup of coffee. And some Trianon relaxing ambiance! :D

Definitely you have good tastes Aurora!

I will put near the portraits of Polignac, Louis-Charles, Louis Joseph and Madame Royale ... a peaceful morning in family with a good friend in the gardens of Trianon, to chatter and to laugh ... hum... I love :D

But I'm sure that you will do the same thing tomorrow

I think I recently saw the documentry that you mention just a few days ago. I was heart broken to find out that it was infact a repeat of a documentry that was shown in 2006. I was so excited about the perfume too! I wish i could just smell it and lock it away in my heart!
It's a pity you can't buy it any more. I would have gladly forked out the 300 E to get my hands on a 25ml bottle!
What an experience it much have been to get an idea of MA's scent!! I must admit, I am very envious!

I think I could find out the main composants for you.

There is a biography on Fargeon, the Queen's perfumer, by Elizabeth de Feydeau , which no doubt gives some indications. To a few lucky members of the Friends of Versailles this author is giving a sensorial tour of the Queen's private appartments, including sniffing her perfume and other olfactory delights in the very places they filled with their scent...maybe hot chocolate or jasmin tea as well ..? :)

Wow! Wouldn't that be nice?

Thank you! I'll be sure to buy myself to book for christmas! I'm pretty sure I know a few of the scents in it from the research i've been doing about it. It sounds complex and strong.
Thank you again!

Wow! I would be very curious to know the ingredients (well, some of them at least). I have a friend who produces perfums, so I could commision her one in the Marie-Antoinette style :angel2:

Since one of the main reasons for perfume at that time was to try and cover body odor, this new perfume must be very strong and unpleasant. Even without the body odor, there is nothing worse than a woman bathed in perfume no matter how expensive or pleasant the scent.

Reminiscent of what the young ailing Dauphin said to the Duchesse de Polignac from his sick bed!

"Please leave me Duchess! You have the habit of wearing scents that importune me!"

My OH bought me some when we visited the Palace of Versaille... it's a tiny bottle, like smaller than the average tester bottle and cost us about 20 Euros.

Smells gorgeous though.

I recently purchased a candle inspired by the Chateau de Versailles. ... andle.html

It has notes of freesia, gardenia, violet, musk, orris and amber. I like to think it brings me a little close to La Reine!

Yeah I too have seen the news also I got some mails from my friends. I would love to purchase this perfume. But I know it will be expensive, and out of my budget. Can anyone tell me the price for it, I would also love to know how it smell like I mean about its fragrance.
