Post subject:  New perfume ???

I have just seen the last few minutes of a documentary - shown here in Britain - on the BBC. (Always frustrating to only see the end of something!!!)

In the programme they talked about a new perfume which is connected in some way with Marie Antoinette does anyone know anymore about this ?
I saw the manufacture of the new bottles for the perfume .....but little else.

I know that the castle of Versailles reconstitute a perfume of the time of Marie-Antoinette, according to the researchs of Elisabeth de Feydeau about the notes of the Marie-Antoinette's perfumer (Jean-Louis Fargeon).. It will be put on sale very soon.

They speak about it on the Versailles's site : http://www.chateauversailles.fr/fr/1_So ... _Reine.php

However... 350 euros, it's quite expensive, isn't it ?

I think it won't be exactly her perfume, Chou-Charles, alas... It won't be exactly this formula, you see ? I'm afraid it will be adapted to our today tastes...

I agree, it's only one a reconstitution make starting from documents.

And I also believe that it's not exactly the perfume of Marie-Antoinette, but only one a standard perfume of this time, which surely Marie-Antoinette would liked

I received a mail of Versailles saying that the perfume will have a large delay of manufacture because they changed supplier, which met much problem to the manufacture.
The perfume should be finished in December.

Will the perfume, once available, be available at perfumeries everywhere? I live in Australia and really hope I will have the chance to purchase it too!

If this is the same perfume as in this article I think it will only be sold at Versailles, at least for now.

Indeed Melly this parfum will be only sold in Versailles and in limited edition (1000 I believe): it's thus necessary to hold it before by mail...
