Post subject:  The Queen wearing the Tricolour

The other day I was in Barnes and Noble looking at History book and when I passed the section about the French Revoltuion they had a picture of Louis XVI swearing on the constituion and the Queen was next to him holding up the Dauphin. The Queen was wearing Three feathers one blue, one White and one Red. Its the first time I'd ever seen MA dressed in such a way and I was curious if there are any other pictures of her dressed in such away?

MA was so amazing at putting on a brave face.

It surely acts of a reconstituted and imagined painting... Marie-Antoinette and Louis XVI were obliged to put the tricolour rosette in Tuileries in 1792, but never Marie-Antoinette would have choice herself to put feathers of the 3 colors...
I don't know others painting of this style...

Yes, the queen had to don the tricolor to prove that she was not an enemy of the people just as the king later had to wear the bonnet rouge.

I am not sure....I'll go back to Barnes and Noble and look for it again

I think it was called something simple like "An Illustrated World History"

Anyway, I love it ! This terrible old woman, in front of the mob, reminds me of this other one :

They both symbolized so well the violence of the people's hate towards their queen.
