I would ask Marie Antoinette, " Marie Antoinette, why didn't your family help you when you were going through all of your hardships?"

I would ask her if she likes pink as much as Sophia Coppola thinks she does.

 Definitely not this chemical pink, dear Monsieur André ! It did not exist by then... as we all know except for miss Coppola, obviously !

Yes, no hot pink back then!

Such a vibrant shade of pink probably would have offended some people back then! Pastels were more in vogue at Versailles, I guess. If I had five minutes with her, I would probably ask her, if she had one wish that could be granted, what would it be. I think she would answer that she wanted her children to be safe and happy. But since I can't ask her I suppose I'll never know... :(

Very true in that a hot pink / fuschia / magenta was not a color in which clothing of the day could be dyed, but that is not to say that people were not aware of the color.

Versailles was and continues to be surrounded by gardens, and I shouldn't have to remind everyone that Marie Antoinette intensely adored flowers. To add to this, when one considers that the emblem of the Habsburg family was in fact, the rose, it is not completely unbelieveable that Marie Antoinette would be familiar with more shades of pink than puce.

Yes, it was an exageration to paint Marie Antoinette's clothing (in one short scene) a brilliant shade of fuschia--but it was, in the end, for the sake of the aesthetic, not a claim of complete historical accuracy.

I would ask her to tell me whatever she wants to tell me.... I would like her to be free to tell me what she wants...

I would probably ask her what it was like to wear all those fancy dresses and updo hair styles! I would also ask her what was going through her head when her carriage first pulled up to Versailles.

I would like to ask her what her wishes for her children's lives would have been, had there been no revolution.

...good questions
She wish only their happiness… she also wanted that her daughter remains in France and that she marries with a french (her cousin)
