That's the way on most forums - otherwise you get a million spambots.

I thought though that recent genetic testing had established that the boy who died WAS in fact Louis XVII and not, as has frequently been claimed, an imposter?

Moose, there is a topic here already talking about this, check it out! It states that there is no DNA evidence.

Well, actually Deborah Cadbury's book The Lost King of France says that DNA testing on a heart that is said to be the Dauphin's has mitochondrial DNA consistant with Marie Antoinette's family line. Mitochondrial DNA is passed by the mother to all her children, so it doesn't necessarily prove 100% that the heart is of Louis XVII, but it doesn't seem it could be anyone elses because I think Louis Joseph's remains are all ready accounted for.

If that's true, then why do so many people still think it's not really him? I admit the situation is a little fishy (especially how they wouldn't let his sister near the body) but DNA rarely makes mistakes.

I agree with you PersephoneMediocris, but some people think, and it is possible indeed, that the heart which has been analysed did not come from the body of Louis-Charles...and indeed the traceability of this heart is a problem….But it is true that these analyses are convincing… To my mind, I await the evidence showing that this heart is not that of Louis-Charles… we still wait :?

I read Delorme's book on the heart of Louis XVII. What puzzled me somewhat is the amazing journey the heart was supposed to have made until finally being analysed. It even was discovered in a pile of rubble after the Commune riots. It seemed a bit far fetched but if the analysis was correctly done that maybe this was a kind of miracle that it lasted until then and changed hands so often. I saw the heart three days ago in Saint Denis suspended in its glass vase....

Yes there are still vague points… but those who think that this heart was not that of Louis-Charles are abstract too… :?

Charles, the person believing himself researcher , continuous to think that the will of Marie-Antoinette is not authentic, and thinks that the writing of letters to Jarjayes is too different compared to the will. And it is enough for him to conclude about the not-authenticity of the will...
Yes it is a shame, especially because he did not prove anything... :?

Charles does not understand that Marie-Antoinette did not write these letters to Jarjayes like she wrote her will, the context being different... and he refuses to admit that in spite of that, it is obvious that the writing style of the will is coherent with all the letters of Marie-Antoinette....

According to Fraser, the writing of this will is well certified as being that of Marie-Antoinette :D Of course!

I didn't care for it but at least it did not have the queen sleeping with Fersen.

Thank you so much, do you have any more recommendations on the Queen's private life any books perhaps?

Those disrespectful people are getting on pretenting that our queen's last letter is apocryphal !

Please, for those who understand French, post on their forum. Chou and I have been banned, of course... so that we cannot defend Marie Antoinette any longer.

Isn't it time this little game ends ? :?
