You aren't underage to travel dear. My 7 year old cousin flys alone all the time. The airports have places for you to watch movies and eat all the food you want during connecting flights. They take you on the carts to your gate as well. It's quite nice.

Yes, yes...Im 13 by the way and dont need assistance in the air port thatnk you but what I am talking about is the fact that partys and trips take MONEY! I have none! I live in the suberbs! Im a mid class member! I have nothing to pay for this.

Get a job babysiting, walk neigborhood dogs, cut grass, shovel snow, save your change. That's pretty much all I did whenI was in middle school

I attended such a party two years ago in Houston, Texas. It was not dedicated to Marie Antoinette, however, but the 18th Century in general. I enjoyed it very much, dressing in costume and parading about with others in similar attire. The ball took place at a large hotel in downtown Houston as a charity event, so there were many onlookers from the public (not attending the ball) who were gawking at we guests in all our finery.
A few reflections on the subject. It is, as others have said, very expensive to dress in period costume. I am very particular about things being right, or accurate to the period, and it was difficult to find a costume that I liked. Most costume shops offer only cheaply made wares with no attention to detail (or concern about historical accuracy). In the end I had a friend who works in theatre cobble something up for me. At the ball, I also noticed a great disparity between peoples costumes. A few were fabulous (I have to look for those photos!), while many others were fairly shabby in comparison, and I felt sorry for those guests who patronized standard costume places to dress themselves, probably not knowing any better. But you could definitely tell the difference between those familiar with the 18th Century, and those who knew nothing about it except what they see in movies.

I remember your age dear ;]
Butttt, according to Delta and the rest of the airlines you are not completely fit to travel alone until you are 15. I went to Florida on Delta, and they made me pay $70 dollars for daycare. It was awful, so I ditched the group during a bathroom break.(:

Yes, it would be very exspensive, and I would pay very close attention to detail, I always do. I do love the mens costumes in the 2006 movie. I'd like something in the color of DuBarry's followers. I love purples, and blues and yellows, golds, oh and mint green.(: Of course, I'd walk in Shining like a beacon with all the 18th century jewels I'd have by then.

"Louis XVI blinded in gold cloth strewn with diamonds- diamonds as buttons, diamonds as bucksles on his shoes, diamonds on his paniers. On his crown Louis wore the 140-carat cushion shaped regent. Also carried a diamond sword."

:D that's what I want to do!
MUAHAHAHAHAHA.(:

I cant do that at the moment, see, my arm is paralized! I cant move it at all! What I can possibly move KILLS! It hurts so bad!

Anyway, I am involved in many after school activities and need to go to those meetings 3 out of 5 days a week! The rest of the time I help my mom with my brother.

you could always do a ball in Texas and then another in NY so members can choose whats nearer and go to it. then someone takes LOADS of pictures of each and they get posted here.......just an idea....
