The reason for my statement, and regardless of what everyone else thinks, the people who gathered at the Palais Royale were more malicious than anyone at Versailles could be, especially bad because of the proximity to the locals.

Yes, well because the Palais Royale was the Versailles of Paris.
Gossip was vicious at the Palais, especially with Philippe-Egalite around.

i ahte that no one could seem to let go of the fact that she spent money. she wasnt even as "blond" as people think. it was simply the life she grew up in.

People think she was ditsy you mean?
That is a poipular opinion of today, but MA, was very well educated, and VERY bright.
Having read all but a few books in her extensive libraries, 2 at versailles, and 1 at trianon.

I know that her mother (Marie Teresie) wasn’t that pleased with her interests and her will to study, she have always advised her to read more. M.A. was a smart girl but not so interested in the education.

And didn't she find it difficult to concentrate on her lessons etc. (especially the ones given to prepare her for going to the French Court, I'm sure I read this somewhere)? Maybe her lack of concentration was due to her disinterest in what she was being taught. Some people are naturally clever/intelligent but not necessarily academic.
