My waist is 24 inches and I am hoping to get it down to 23" naturally... I'm just about to order corsets which will mean I go down to 20"... my bust is 28E... so not as big as hers, but I have time to catch up!!!

Well thanks Dauphine for sharing those juicy details with us, especially the bit about your bust!

I'm getting to like this forum more and more!

Now you're over your very temporary photo phobia, maybe you could oblige us, corsets and all? Seeing as we know each other better now?

Lol! Sorry, didn't mean to sound so revealing, was just getting excited over mine and MA's similarities! I shall post a pic of me in a corset actually, it's one of the best pictures of me! :P

Hi, everyone! Please forgive me if someone has already posted an answer to this question--I didn't see anything as I browsed through the posts...

Does anyone happen to know Marie-Antoinette's height? I am wondering, given the waist and bust measures in this thread, how tall she might have been--it might provide a clearer idea of the effect of these figure measurements.

Thanks!

I believe she was around 156.75 cm.

Citation needed. I think I read that somewhere on this forum so take its validity as you will...

Actually, some say 1.56, some say 1.75 cm, which is a wide ballpark. For one thing, she had little feet. It seems to me that she was probably closer to 1.60 cm, which would have been average at the time.

As for her weight, she used to be scrawny in her teenage years, but then put on a lot of weight and struggled to shed some. Being curvaceous was fashionable for a woman at that time. According to the King's doctor and other numerous eye witnesses however (as well as the dress measurements) it seems that already by her twenties she was a bit too plump, and that worsened after her pregnancies. She notoriously had very ample bosom. She shed a lot of weight at the end of her life, due to extreme anxiety and grief. She was but very frail by the time her trial took place.
