Bon appétit, chère amie !

Some of the negative statements about Gabrielle have been removed, but more could not be added because the Wiki MA entry is too long, but hopefully some good will be added to Gabrielle's own entry.

There are now some improvements to Gabrielle's own entry, including the authors you mentioned, Pimprenelle, but it really needs to be entirely rewritten by somebody sometime, IMHO.

I always thought that Artois' mistress, Louise de Polastron was Gabrielle's sister-in-law, not her sister, as the Wikipedia says. :?:

That's exactly what I thought when I wrote this article a few hours ago, dear Therese ! Wasn't she her sister-in-law ?

Oh, it's so so kind of you ! I'll have a quick surf, and get back immediately !

Yes, I am almost positive Louise was Gabrielle's sister-in-law, her brother's wife. Gabrielle and Antoinette tried to protect her from Artois and they succeeded until the Revolution threw Louise and Artois together.

Thank you so much, precious Therese ! You're wonderful ! "ambitious" has been removed, and it's a real pleasure to read this, now !

Just a detail :

Quote:
Marie Antoinette's friend Comtesse de Polignac, the governess of her children, fled to Switzerland, where she continued writing to the queen.

She was Duchess at this moment.

In the Gabrielle entry, the author is Nolhac and not Nohlac. And, if some changes are made, is it possible to remove

Quote:
She escaped the guillotine

This shocked me... for she died from cancer and sorrow...

Dear Therese, I thank you again and again for these corrections ! It's so kind of you ! You can't imagine how relieved I feel now when reading these entries !

Très cordialement,
Pimprenelle

I don't know what to tell, dear Therese... It's just marvelous ! This poor Madame de Polignac, who raised the Queen's children with all her heart, and was so affectionate to Louis too ! I'm so happy to see acurate information is now available ! Thanks to you, dear Therese ! :D

By the way... how is it possible that you can go on this site and make corrections ? Informatics is a big mystery for me, and I really wonder...

Anyone can log on to Wikipedia. You just register the way you do on a discussion forum. Many people I know are registered on Wikipedia. It is very easy to do. You should register then you can edit pages that are inaccurate. But be prepared for people to come behind you and re-edit.
