Post Hello Fellow MA Lovers!
I'm so excited to find a forum for those that are as "obsessed" with Marie Antoinette as I! I think my interest in this wonderful Queen began with watching the Sofia Coppela movie (hundreds of times!!) and although it is inaccurate in general, it's phenomenal costumes, beautiful scenery, etc. spurned my interest to learn more. At this point I'm convinced that in another life I must have been a member of MA's Court (how else could I explain my intense urge to know EVERYTHING about her daily life, loves, palaces, children, etc.) it's crazy!

Has anyone been to Versailles since the renovation and, if so, just how much of the palace can you see? I would tour all 700 rooms if I could (would spend the night, play in the gardens, etc. - move in & wear 18th Century gowns - hmmmmm.... I don't suppose all that is welcome). I would love to plan a trip to visit, but wanted to know if it's a disappointment or well worth the travel. Just to stand where she stood - how splendid that must be!

And that is the great thing about this movie. I don’t like it a lot but it is wonderful how it managed to inspire a lot of people to learn more about M.A.

Welcome!:)

yes, I also think that Sofia Coppola may be criticized in many aspects of her movie, but we must recognize her the merit of having made a lot of people get interested in MA!

Welcome here :D

Yes I do give her credit because it has reached a younger generation and made more people sympathetic to her, if not interested in her .
