The Illiad was good. There was a lot of violence and I like violence in books. Does that make me a bad person?

I like violence as well, it gives it depth.
I also enjoy watching Roseanne re-runs.

I hated 'Troy' for all of the reasons Rosalie stated. I love the Iliad, and I just couldn't stand seeing what Hollywood did to it. I tried to watch it purely for entertainment's sake, but even there it somehow seemed flat and uninspiring.

Dangerous Laisons: now there is a Great Movie! I only had one problem with it, the costumes and hair were all wrong for the period. It was supposedly set in the late 18th Century, yet everybody was dressed straight out of a Wattau or Broucher painting--about 30 years earlier. Now if I could take that movie, with the same script and actors, but switch the costume designer with the one who did 'Amadeus' and we'd have a cinematic Masterpiece!

Has anyone seen the movie "Desiree," with Jean Simmons and Marlon Brando? I watched it the other day and thought it was a very good portrait of Napoleon.
