This may seem a bit odd, but as I was searching for some Louis XVI style antiques online, I came across this....
A Marie Antoinette tampon case. I didn't even know tampon case even exist, much less one of Marie Antoinette. It is by Betsey Johnson...the eccentric, whimsy designer. I love her line of shoes, bags, and jewelries... this though, strikes me as being odd. I wonder if this has something to do with her heavy bleeding when she was imprisoned?

Tampons of course didn't exist! What a very peculiar idea! Anything to put MA's name to sell, as she is considered an icon of feminity. As for her bleeding that was probably uterine cancer or maybe early menopause. We don't know for sure what her condition was.
