Post What would she like?
I was just wondering, quite frankly on a whim, what Marie-Antoinette would think of our music today. I wonder which artists she would like. Any thoughts?

I don't know, it's difficult to decide because music then was so different...but she loved music, so I guess if she was born in our time she would listen to music a lot. Yes, I can't figure her like a hip hop type

LOLOLOL :o Hellou_Librorum!!!
i have somewhat of an idea myself,
since the orchestral music is still being played today, i think she would still listen to it.
opera isnt as prevalent but she loved it, so thats on the list.
ive always thought that she would listen for a beautiful sound and stick with it.
like me, with Amy Lee's voice. ahhh :]

Considering the fact that, for her period, Marie Antoinette loved a quite non conservative music... well, she could love new sounds while coming to our century !

You have a point pim, but I agree that she wouldn't be fond of most music we listen to nowadays.

Well we all know that she loved running through the fields at trianon, so peaceful. I wonder if she would choose soemthing based on that. Like that she could hear in her heard while skipping around? Something calming and peaceful, but refined and elegant, like her!
Or atleast that's my take on it!
:D

Indeed... She loved operas. I guess she would still ! She enjoyed lyrical music, with light and chanting melodies, I imagine she would still like charming and delightful songs.

But she also had a taste for music that sounded quite strange by then, like Gluck. Maybe she would explore more avant gardiste music now... Who knows... ?

Oh, no, I don't think so ! She enjoyed strong sensations, such as driving a cabriolet. She also loved seeing, touching, smelling many things in the same time. She would enjoy our consummating society, I guess ! And watching movies... Wouldn't she adore watching movies ? They sound like our modern operas...

Such lovely thoughts these conjure up, dear Pim! I think she would like our modern music, but I was alluding to some of the lyrics that would offend her sensibilities. She was never one for foul language in her presence.
