Post Unecessarily long introduction
Hello I just joined
I found this website earlier today and I'm really happy
I'm excited that I've found other people who are interested in Marie Antoinette and that time period in general
I became really obsessed with Marie Antoinette and the 18th century after I saw the new movie on a plane to london
And that's pretty much still all I know about her, except I saw a few paintings of her when we went to the museums in London if that counts...
And after I came back I did some reasearch on the clothes and hair of that time period
because that's what I'm mostly interested in
but then I stopped because I felt like no one else in the world was interested in it
I really feel like I should live in the 18th century...
it's really hard for me to find friends my age because most people just think that the past couldn't compare to now in any way and most teenagers seem kind of stupid to me, even though I go (well, went) to a school for kids two grade levels above regular... but I'm really accepting of people anyway...
Also I'm really really shy in real life
But luckily I know a girl who really likes the Rennesance (can't spell) and the 1920s and a girl who really likes the 1920s-1940s and used to be obsessed with the revolutionary war
But I'm starting high school next year, at a new school, so I'm really scared about meeting people.
Sorry I wrote so much.
I just wanted to get it all out :D

Well, what are some good books about Marie Antoinette that I should read? I hardly know anything about her.

Oh, and a book i reccomend is Kamikaze girls by Novala Takemoto. It's about a japanese girl who is obsessed with rococco and wants to be just like Marie Antoinette... she wears a Japanese style called lolita that's based on victorian and 18th century clothes. it's not educational or anything, it only talks about rococco in the beginning, but it's a funny book and I could relate to it...

Post Re: Unecessarily long introduction
I am same like you :) ! I love 18 century and to study about past in general.
That began when I read my now favorite book and watched a movie based on it. I visited Vienna, Paris and fell in love with beautiful old buildings and art of that time. I am 18 years old and even very sociable I can’t really find anyone to talk about subjects this kind. I am very happy because I found this site and people who are obviously well educated and curios to discuss 18 century and Marie Antoinette.
