I was reading about how the one possesion MA was able to keep during the transformation from Austrian to French was her mothers watch, but does anyone know how she was able to keep it from getting taken away from her?

In Caroline Webber's book it said the some of her clothes and accesories reappeared on the bodies of members of the French court, how aggravating

This is very interesting, I've heard so many different stories about this. Does anybody know how it actually was?

I thought that Antoinette's mothers watch was stolen from the wall she hung it on while she was imprisoned...

From what I have read, this watch Marie Antoinette received from her mother was stolen when the royal family left the tuileries for getting in the national assembly. I was stolen together with her purse.

Then, once in the temple, Louis had a new watch made for his wife, the one she still had while imprisoned in the conciergerie, and that the gards took away from the wall.
