Well, I don't know about you, but it will still be Oct 16 for about 8 more hours where I live.

Yes (as I write this) it is still 16 Oct. I don't know why, (silly) I was thinking we needed to use French time....(time is time) .

Yes, it is a sad time for any who cares a little about the Queen. But I do think she had the final word for her enemies could never get her dignity. She was so brave and dignifies they could never get her show her distress or desperation in public, and that's what they wanted; so, they could never trumph over her in that sense.
In other perspective, I really liked how Victoria Holt wrote the last page of her book "The Queen's Confession", as she wrote a very vivid description of her last moments and her drive to la Place de la Révolution.
Another great thing I want to comment on, have you all ever read her last letter to Mme. Elisabeth? It is such a moving and brave letter, she is flying over the other mortals when she wrote it a few hours before her execution... If anyone has not read it, I strongly recommend it, you can see the true Queen in it

She is on my mind on this day constanly every year. Which kind of sucks cause its my mom's birthday.

The greatness she showed in her final hours is so inspiring

Your dear mother is honored to share this day with the queen, Rudy.

I agree but its the type of day. October 16th makes me a bit sad when I think of the Queen's awful fate, but then I have to be happy cause its her birthday you know?
