was it true that one of her favourite scents was violets? or was it lavender, or both??

Its very possible that she liked both :) ...although she could have liked one more than the other. Im not very sure to be honest with you.

She loved many scents... You can read a lot about it in Elisabeth de Feydeau's book about Fargeon, Marie Antoinette's perfumer. He made a perfume for her with a lot of flowers she adored, iris (so lovely and delicate scent), rose (the one she prefered, I guess), tuberose (a rare flower she cultivated), jasmin (she was in love with jasmin)... he added amber and santal, a bit of musc (since she did not enjoy it that much, it was so strong)... then, he also put in orange (Mme de Polignac used to calm her down with orange water), vanilla (like those pastries she ate in Vienna, to remind her of her childhood)... and others again !

Perfumes, parties, dresses, roses, chicken soup, dancing, necklaces, diamonds, her children, Louis and Axel von Fersen..

... and flowers and plants... and so many children ! And dogs !!! She was fond of dogs ! :lol:
