What do you want me to explain, dear ? That Marie Antoinette was brave ? Yes, she was. But, as brave as she was, she also needed people to love and assist her. Having read many of her letters, I don't think she would blame us for being sad while visiting the conciergerie. Compassion is a deep feeling, making a link trough hearts.

I don't think so. I believe that she woud like us to be proud of her because of her strong feeling and her dignity till the end ! So let's be happy thinking about her, and let' s be proud abour our Queen !
Don't feel so sad because she was brave ! And we ar not if we spend pour time only "crying" thinking about her! She was the queen of france...not Sissi ! :P

I don't agree, standingonthetop. Marie Antoinette suffered more than what is humanly possible. It is far deeper than just "being proud of her".

By the way, Elisabeth of Austria suffered too, she lost children. Awful for a mother.

Are you indifferent to other people's sufferings ?

I would like to visit the Conciergierie. I know that nowadays it's the Palais de Justice de Paris. :D

Yes, I think that Marie Antoinette suffered as each human person!

I don't think so, CrY. I think she suffered more than many human beings. I think she suffered a way that is far above what a human being could bear.

Well, it's only your opinion...I agree with CrY ! I love Marie-Antoinette... but I think you go too far into compassion. We can be sad but we musn't commiserate like you do ! You don't do Marie-Antoinette a good turn !
Her death seems to be the origin of your passion for her...Waht a shame... :(

It's a part of it. I remember having to go through security before going in.

No, Marie Antoinette's death is not the origine of my passion. You are wrong. To make it short, let's say that I love her temper.

Unfortunately, the French revolution did not allow my queen to go on in her life, and display for long years this wonderful temper she had. All those beautiful talents and generous gifts...

History on the other hand gave her the opportunity to show her bravery. Believe me if you want, I don't care. I would have rather that she lived on...

Instead of this life she deserved, she had to experience grief and sorrows and pains and tortures and humilations. This I deeply feel. And I think it is normal. We never feel too much compassion.

Sorry, but I am not fascinated by Marie Antoinette's refine clothes and perfumes only.
