I don't think....I believe that only the King had a crown.
And only Louis XVI had been crowned in Reims :D

I agree with Louis-Charles. The whole idea of french aristocracy usually meant males first, and although the queen had alot fo wordly possessions, I beleive only the king had a crown.

Doesn't she pose with her crown on a pilliow in some of the more so "Formal" pictures or is that the King's crown?

There was a ceremonial crown for the queen. Marie-Antoinette did not wear it much. There are pictures of it on a pillow in some of her formal portraits in court dress. Many queens of France took part in the king's coronation ceremony or had their own smaller coronation. Louis XVI made a decision NOT to have MA take part in the coronation because he did not want people to think he was sharing power with her.

And yet they still believe she controlled the government how ironic.

Indeed Therese and Monsieur Royale!

Here the "ceremonial" painting of Marie-Antoinette by Dagoty in 1775 with a real queen dress :

I love!! :D

There a crown in the picture, but she did not wear it

Yes, that is the painting I was thinking of. It would be hard for her to wear a crown like that with her coiffure! But it shows that a queen's crown did exist.

I love the portait! ABout the crown, I don't know if it was that way in France, but in Portugal, the King and Queen didn't used the crown in their heads because they gave the only rigth of having a crown to Nossa Senhora da Conceição de Vila Viçosa...Maybe the french kings did a similar thing, but I'm just guessing...

That is beautiful and I know other sovereigns who did similar things. I never heard of Louis and Antoinette doing any thing like that. I have seen at least one picture of each of them wearing their crown. The picture of the queen with her crown on was a profile representation on a medal or etching, I think. Does anyone know what picture I am talking about?

I don't know how accurate this is. Count Alexander just seems to make things the were inspired by historical figures, but never actually belonged to them, so this might just be fantasy creation.

Very interesting. That certainly looks like a replica of the one in the picture above.
