|Post subject:||Pock marked face|
So often, reading about the leaders of
the Revolution I come across the term
... with his pock-marked face...
Mirabeau is described this way, Danton also
so is Marat.
Then last week I read
that Robespierre had a pock-marked face too !
I dare say that the pock marks were
from some childhood disease ( a touch of smallpox perhaps ? )
I don t know.
Danton and Mirabeau are also described as lecherous....
with huge sexual appetites.
What a collection of monsters the leaders of the Revolution were.... and so many of
them were lawyers too, or connected to the law
(that figures ! )
I wonder if Mirabeau was poisoned as some conjecture ?
his sudden death at such a crucial time seems very strange.
I wonder if he had lecherous designs upon the poor Queen ?

You know, dear, Marie Antoinette had pock marks too, from smallpox... Rosalie Lamorliere saw them, while the queen was standing in the windowlight.
