 Louis XVI's Childhood
Here we can discuss Louis XVI's childhood. Apparently he liked to draw maps, he drew extremely accurate maps rivaling that of a cartographer.

 Re: Louis XVI's Childhood
The son of Louis XV, known as the Louis, Dauphin of France and Marie Josephe of Saxony were the parents of the Duc de Berry/ later Louis XVI. He was born in 1754, BUT- he already had an older brother, so he was not expected to be King. He also had a second brother born before him who died in infancy. So, Louis XVI was the third son of his parents. Can you imagine being born at Versailles?? And spending your childhood there?? What must a child have seen and heard? And to think that this was "the norm"............? I am fascinated to think of the psychological impact such surroundings had on Louis XVI as a child. His brother died (1761), his father died (1765), then his mother died (1767), so as you can see he had suffered some heavy losses by the time he was entering his teenage years. I wonder why Grandpa (Louis XV) did not educate this boy to become King as he knew that Louis would inherit the throne upon his own death. Shall we go on.............................................?
