We all are aware of how, when Louis XVI was executed, the spectators allegedly surged towards the scaffold and dipped their handkerchiefs in his dripping blood. But for the longest time, the surviving relics' credibility was under dispute.

Scientists have finally verified that the blood on one of these handkerchiefs is that of Louis XVI.

A professional could explain it better than I could. Here's a link to an article by David Blair.

No problem!

But there's more. There's always more.

I recently learned that the blood is housed in this container...

...which is decorated with the visages of Danton, Marat, and Camille Desmoulins.

The discovery is twofold it appears, because it also helped certifying the authenticity of Henry 4th's skull, whose authenticity was also deemed questionable. Which makes me wonder how they could authentify two dubious relics at one go. Surely one of them would have to be authentified beforehand to certify the authenticity of the other one... Maybe the logic is based on the consideration that the odds of the two blood stemming from the same family are the sufficient to certify that the two relics stem from this family. I still find it weird to proceed that way when they were plenty of other Bourbon relics available.

This doubt apart, it also proves that Louis XIV was indeed the son of Louis XIII and not of Cardinal Mazarin.

Yes indeed Ludy for example there are plenty of surviving relics containing Louis XVI's hair from which DNA can be extracted as far as I know.
