I know all about her life after she married the king, but still i wonder what her life was like when she was a young prinsesse in great britain. Maybe ther is some british people in here who can help me?

Quote:
Caroline Matilda was the youngest child of Frederick, Prince of Wales and Princess Augusta of Saxe-Gotha, hence her title. Her father died suddenly about three months before her birth. She was born at Leicester House in London, and was given the style and title HRH Princess Caroline Matilda, as daughter of the Prince of Wales, though, by the time of her birth, the title of Prince of Wales had passed to her brother George. Both of her names were used due to her aunt, Princess Caroline, being alive. The princess was christened ten days later, at the same house, by The Bishop of Norwich, Thomas Hayter. Her godparents were her brother The Prince of Wales, her paternal aunt The Princess Caroline and her sister Princess Augusta.

She was brought up by her strict mother away from the English court and was described as natural and informal; she enjoyed out-doors life and riding. She could speak Italian, French and German, and was described as an accomplished singer with a beautiful voice.

The Hanovers have never been known for their good-looks.

Tankyou so much! :)

Allright, Caroline Mathilde (1751-1775) was married to the crazy King Christian VII of Denmark (lived from 1749 -1808, ruled from 1766-1808) when she was only 15.
Everybody had very high expectations, because she was a related to Christians mother, Louise of england, and though Louise died young, she was adored by the people for her beauty and kind nature. CM was was know to very chuppy ( simply just not a beauty). The marriage was spoiled right from the first moment they met, because she did not know the Danish ettiquette. As she was riding in a carriage earlier that day with her new first lady-in-waiting, Louise von Plessen (Who though the king behavior was immoral, and wanted to separate the couple),
a lady entered the carrige and sat beside the queen. Von plessen told the queen that the lady hat violated the etiquette by sitting beside the queen. When she later met her husband for the first time in another carriage, she sat opposite to him.
The king was insulted, because as his wife she was supposed to sit beside him. He thought, she didn't like him.

Now, the king had been know as a very talented, clerver but nervous child. He was often beaten nearly senseless by his govenor Ditlew Reventlow. He was also said to be extremly beautiful ( so they have been an odd couple). He developed weid behaveior and was always masturbating. His father died young (and drunk) and the odd boy became king at 17.
The power in Denmark at this time would be held by at first the royal counsil, but later the person the king like best in that period. He was out partying in the streets allmost every night. He smashed bars, threw stones at brothels and fought the guards in the city with his friends - he even once stole a morningstar (weapon) from a guard and ran around in the palace with it! He later also became a skizo.

When they finally made him sleep with CM (there was a rumor that he was gay, which was later proved wrong), he came to a friend next morning and said: " I've commited a blood sin! I've sleept with my mother!" CM reminded him of his dead mother, allthough they didn't look alike!
When she gave birth to crownprins Frederik, he turned a prostitude named Anne-Katrine Benthagen or nicknamed "Støvlet-Katrine", who became his only true love in life. They were known for having sex while being completely naked ( which was very uncommen at the time) and whipping each other while doing it. She was later sent away from court because she stole the kings heart and attension.

The court was split in two: the king friends, and the queen friends who were disgusted by the kings behavior. When Louise von Plessen was banished from court, she even lost her only friend. She felt neglected by the king. The king wanted to go on a trip in europe but he pushed her away from him by not wanting her with him, and then leaving her home.

But the king brought home knew favorite - a german doctor nnamed Johann Friedrick Struensee. He soon ruled the entire kingdom by himself as a dictator, by making himself the king secretary, and making the king sign a law saying that no matter what the king signed, it wasn't law until Struensee's signature was un it. That way no one could get to the king and make him signe something in one of his moments.

Soon Struensee and the queen became lovers, and ruled the country together: removing censur, improving schools and hospitals and so on. The reduced the king to a child who couldn't do anything without permission. And the king was lonely, afriad and angry. CM and Struensee had a daugther. Her name was Louise Augusta. She was also called "La Petit Struensee"
bacause she looked so much like him. Everyone knew who the father was, but surprisingly the king approved that she was his. She was therefore raised as a prinsess her whole childhood. Struensee became very unpopular becuse he was moving to fast and only creating expenses, which made people poor. A rumor was circulating that Struensee and the queen were going to force the king to give the throne to Struensee. Christians halfbrother and stepmother, came to the kings room one night and made him sign an arrest order for Struensee. He was beheaded only 34 years old after having chupped off one hand.

CM was band from the kingdom, never to return. She never saw her children again, and died a few years later (believed to have been poisoned.

Puh, that it in general. hope this is enough. If you have eny question feel free to asked. <3

hugs and kisses :)

oh, yes and before i forget it:

King Christian loved France, and had never been happier when he went to visit. He loved king Louis XV.
yet the only time he remarked upon the french revolution was
when a new ambassador fron the french republic came to see him with
small tricolere on his chest.

"How is the king? Oh, no! How is the republic?

Though he was crazy and ran around like a small child, he was always intelligent and elegant around ambassadors.
